China’s Gen Z investors are turning fund managers into social media stars

On a fan community page on Chinese social media platform Weibo, hundreds of users have posted comments and pictures, some covered in little red hearts, to express their admiration for a star they affectionately call Kun Kun. “Kun Kun flies bravely, iKun will always follow him; Kun Kun never gets old, and will remain a blue-chip till the end,” some users wrote alongside the picture. “Kun Kun,” whose full name is Zhang Kun, is neither a pop star nor actor. Instead, he is one of China’s most prominent fund managers who oversees around 120 billion yuan ($18.6 billion) in assets at E Fund Management, an established Chinese asset management firm. Zhang’s followers, who label themselves “iKun,” (“i” is a homophone for the Chinese word love), have also created accounts on Weibo posing as his “global fan clubs.” “Kun Kun, I would like to accompany you for many, many years,” a follower wrote. “Let’s witness both the bull and bear markets, but still return with young hearts.”

Samsung to unveil ‘NEON Artificial Human’ at CES 2020


Samsung launched the Bixby voice assistant back in 2017 and it is being offered in the company’s smartphones lineup. Bixby has improved over the years and it has been positioned as a competitor to Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, and more. With an aim to take it to the next level, now, Samsung has announced its new Project ‘NEON’ which will be officially unveiled at CES 2020.

There is a dedicated website for Samsung’s NEON, but as of now, it doesn’t specify much details, except for the logo. The company has also confirmed that it won’t be about BIXBY and will be a completely different project.

Loading videoIt is to be noted that the company is calling NEON as ‘Artificial Human’ and is much more than a virtual voice assistant. Samsung might be aiming to use artificial intelligence to replicate the emotions of humans and much more. NEON is being developed at Samsung Technology and Advanced Research Labs (STAR Labs) and will be officially unveiled at CES 2020 which is scheduled from 7th January to 10th January 2020.

We should know more information once it is unveiled next year.

Xiaomi Watch Color unveiled, more details coming January 3

After releasing its first “Mi” branded smartwatch in November with the  Mi Watch , Xiaomi quietly unveiled the new Watch Color although without the core specs and pricing details which are expected to come on January 3 when the watch goes on sale in China. From the teasers, we know the Xiaomi Watch Color is packing a circular display which is believed to come with a 1.39-inch diagonal and 454 x 454 pixel resolution. It will likely support all the standard fitness tracking features as well as heart rate sensor, accelerometer and barometer.
